Explore the Muskwa-Kechika Wilderness area - the "Serengeti of the North". Hike on mountain trails in Muncho Lake Provincial Park and canoe or boat on the turquoise waters of Muncho Lake itself. Then rejuvenate in nearby Liard River Hot Springs, a lush oasis with its multitude of unique flower and plant species. Northern Rockies Lodge is an impressive log building set on the shores of breathtakingly beautiful Muncho Lake and is the ideal "home base" and staging point for these mountain adventure vacations. Guests can relax at this magnificent lakeside mountain retreat, close to the land of the Midnight Sun.
All meals included. Each day's guided adventure activities starts with a full hot breakfast at the Lodge. Lunch is usually a picnic in a spectacular mountain setting. Returning to the lodge in the late afternoon there is usually time to relax before enjoying a delicious 3-course dinner prepared by the Lodge's Chef.
Each package includes several adventure activities. Guided hiking excursions, as well as sightseeing drives in our comfortable air-conditioned touring van, enable you to enjoy the rugged mountain scenery and observe various species of wildlife in their natural habitats. Frequently we see black bears, moose, caribou, Stone's sheep, mountain goats, elk and bald eagles, among others. There is even an opportunity to follow the route of the original Alaska Highway (Al-Can Highway), the legendary 1,500-mile engineering marvel carved out of the remote northern wilderness in 1942.

Daily adventure activities in Northern British Columbia are guided. Travel is by comfortable air-conditioned touring van, canoe or on foot. Day trips, length and difficulty of hikes, and other activities will be tailored to the interests and hiking experience of package participants. For your day at leisure optional flightseeing excursions from the Lodge can be purchased and package participants will receive a 10% discount off the regular prices.
